Meet Kinnect 2021 President

Camille is a Sophomore majoring in Dance and minoring in Art from Ohio who enjoys visiting her family in Logan, UT and taking drives through Utah canyons. From a young age, Camille has always jumped at opportunities to be on stage and to explore new movements and styles in the studio. She has also enjoyed sharing her passion for dance as a teacher since 2017. She’s happy to show her love with smiles and hugs and is always excited to share her love of dancing with others!

We are excited to announce the members of the Kinnect Dance Company 2020.

Dana Lambert – President

I am a jack-of-all-trades with dance styles, I have yet to find a genre that I don’t enjoy! I speak Portuguese, I get crazy car sick, I love being near rivers and lakes, and soft gingersnaps are the best! I’ve never been to DisneyLand, but I have ridden a tandem bike. When I can, I go to Wendy’s on Wednesdays and fishing with my dad or hiking and sight-seeing with my mom. I would choose A Tale of Two Cities over Harry Potter any day (please don’t hate me), and I look for the adventure and opportunity in every moment! 🙂

Athena Davis

Athena grew up in Las Vegas, and recently transferred from UNLV. In her free time Athena likes to sew, do photography, and do nail art! She is currently studying dance at BYU and hopes to work with Axis Dance Company in the future!

Sofia Kimball

Sofia is a Dance Education major at Brigham Young University. Dancing is her passion and she finds joy in choreographing and teaching dance to students of all ages. Sofia has had experience running her own dance camp held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as well as being a teaching assistant on many different occasions. She is also currently a member of the BYU Tap Club and of the Rhythm Nation Tap Company.

In her free time she can be found rock climbing, hiking, dancing in her apartment, singing, or playing her ukulele! If anyone is ever in need of a crazy adventure buddy Lizzy is always ready. She feels excited and blessed to be a part of Kinnect this year!

What is BYU’s Kinnect Dance Company?

Kinnect is a student outreach performance dance company with a specific focus on developing teaching, creative, and performing skills in its members. This group is carefully selected, prepared, and mentored in order to effectively teach dance as a creative process to elementary- and middle-school-age children, following the U.S. National Dance Standards and the Utah State Dance Core Curriculum. Group members meet from four to seven hours weekly to help create dance “Lecture Performances” for local public schools and museums during winter semester and the first three to four weeks of spring term.
